Monte Meão The Ferreirinha estates are probably the most emblematic in the Douro. Among them, the Quinta do Vale Meão carries an enormous symbolism, as it was conceived from scratch, having been purchased on virgin land. By its own merit, the Quinta do Vale Meão is truly one of Portugal’s most intriguing and coveted wines, earning deserved praise for the quality it delivers in every harvest in which it is released. Vinification After crushing, the grapes undergo a thermal shock followed by a four‑hour foot press in granite vats. The juice is then transferred to small French oak barrels, where it ferments for about ten days. The ageing occurs in 225‑litre used French oak barrels. Winemaker Francisco Olazabal
