“Montes Claros is a wine that’s clearly taken a little sabbatical, waking up with a wonderfully considered maturity. Crafted from vines over 30 years old, the grapes were handled with a deliberate urgency, then allowed to quietly develop maximum complexity. Fermentation was extended with a significant maceration period, followed by ageing in French and American oak barrels – all designed to build a rich, structured character. The result is a smooth, full-bodied red with a lingering finish; perfect alongside hearty meats or a mature cheese – and undoubtedly, it still has a few tales to tell.”
