The production of Moscatel, as a fortified wine, mirrors that of Port, yielding sweet wines whose alcoholic fermentation is halted by adding grape spirit. After a set period of skin maceration, the Moscatel is placed in barrels for ageing, enriching and refining its aromatic profile. These wines are produced from the various Moscatel grape varieties, internationally renowned for their aromatic richness and natural sugar concentration.
