Depending on its age, the wines may show signs of time, such as dust on the bottles and/or damage to the labels—common in wines that have been stored for decades. Garrafeira Nacional is committed to storing all wines at the correct temperature and humidity, but it always preserves the visual appearance that comes with age. We usually choose brands and regions that perform well in vintage wine tastings. However, wine is a living organism that, like all others, is exposed to time, and even inside a bottle its aromas evolve. Consequently, Garrafeira Nacional cannot be held responsible for the quality of the wine, since it is an old vintage. Our recommendation is to open the bottle and let it air out first, which will help release the natural aromas after so many years closed. Avoid decanting, as it may be too aggressive for old wines.
