Founded in 1962, the Adega Cooperativa da Vermelha receives and vinifies grapes over about 1,109.49 ha, with an average plot size of 0.72 ha. In response to market evolution and shifting consumer trends, the cooperative has adopted the latest technologies in bottling, winemaking and laboratory methods. For bottling, it operates two lines capable of filling 6,000 glasses per hour, allowing it to produce a variety of bottle sizes. It also runs two bag‑in‑box lines—a globally popular packaging format—and a barrel‑filling line that uses a beer‑industry–style vessel, an innovative option for certain markets. While it offers several brands, its flagship is “MUNDUS,” the leading Portuguese brand for Vinho Leve, the exclusive designation for wines from Lisbon.
