This Murganheira Mignon Pinot Noir is a seriously intriguing little number. Having spent 18 months in French oak barrels, followed by a further 18 in bottle, it’s certainly developed a lovely, complex character. The nose offers a captivating blend of dark chocolate, ripe cherries, and a hint of spice, with a subtle minty freshness that adds a welcome touch of boldness. On the palate, it’s refreshingly textured, and the lingering aromas of chocolate and cherry are beautifully complemented by delicate violet notes – a fantastic pairing with some rich paté de foie gras or roasted poultry, wouldn’t you agree?
