Muxagat for Muxagat Os Xistos Altos Rabigato The grapes are sourced from vineyard plots situated at 500 m above sea level in the Upper Douro. They are hand‑picked in September and packed in 20 kg crates. Before pressing, the fruit is held for 12 hours in a refrigerated chamber at 10 °C. In the cellar, the grapes are crushed directly into a vertical press, where they undergo a long, gentle pressing. The resulting must then flows by gravity into an underground cement vat. The following day, the must is transferred to a 2,000 L oval barrel of French oak and to a 600 L egg‑shaped cement tank, where it ferments with indigenous yeasts. The aging period is 20 months.
