Description

As the saying goes, “a child of a fish knows how to swim.” This old adage perfectly describes Thomas Haag, son of our well‑known producer and friend Fritz Haag. Schloss Leiser is a highly respected producer in the Mosel, which from 1910 to 1970 produced some of the region’s great wines. Fate had this producer fall into misfortune between 1970 and 1992, as owners and philosophy changed constantly. In 1992, Thomas became winemaker and general director of the company. Drawing on all his knowledge, largely acquired from his father at Fritz Haag, it was only a matter of time before he bought the company and its vineyards. Today, Schloss Leiser has returned to the path of quality and already holds the prominent place it has always deserved. In recent years its wines have achieved stratospheric scores from the world’s top critics.
