Starting out in the Port wine market as a merchant, he quickly set up a business that would prove both prosperous and promising. Thus, in the fifth generation, Dirk Niepoort emerged, an undeniable figure in the wine world, recognised as one of the most important personalities who has worked for—and continues to work for—Portuguese wine. He has collaborated with dozens of producers, helping them improve their wines and understand their vineyards, while also building his legacy alongside those who always create irreverent wines.
