Starting out in the Port wine market as a merchant, he quickly set up a business that would prove prosperous and forward‑looking. Thus, in the fifth generation, Dirk Niepoort was born – a prodigious winemaker recognized as one of the most important figures who has worked for, and continues to work for, Portuguese wine. He has collaborated with dozens of producers, helping them improve their wines and understand their vineyards, while also building his legacy alongside those who always create irreverent wines. Today, Dirk Niepoort is involved in many other projects, across almost all Portuguese wine regions and several abroad. The bottling year may not match the image shown.
