Golden yellow in colour with a fresh and rich profile, this Port presents a complex nose with notes of dried fruits such as hazelnuts and toasted almonds, some spices, and curry notes. On the palate it is persistent and has a certain acidity that gives it liveliness, balanced by sweetness, with notes of spices and dried fruits, where hazelnut and curry stand out. In the national wine landscape, there is no more consensual producer than Niepoort, and its long history begins in 1842, when the first Van Der Niepoort arrived in Portugal. Starting out in the Port wine trade as a merchant, he soon established his business, which would prove prosperous and enduring. Thus, in the 5th generation, Dirk Niepoort was born, an indispensable producer in the world of wines, recognised as one of the most important figures who has worked, and continues to work, for Portuguese wine. He collaborated with several dozen producers, helping them improve their wines and understand their vineyards, while also preparing his own legacy with those who are always creating irreverent wines. Today, Dirk Niepoort collaborates on many other projects, in virtually all of Portugal's wine regions and some abroad. The bottling year may not correspond to the image shown.
