As a trader in the Port wine market, he quickly set up a business that would prove both prosperous and forward‑looking. Thus, in the fifth generation, Dirk Niepoort was born, an undeniably influential winemaker recognized as one of the most important figures who has and continues to champion Portuguese wine. He has collaborated with dozens of producers, helping them improve their wines and better understand their vineyards, while at the same time building his legacy alongside those who always create bold, unconventional wines.
