O Conciso is Niepoort’s interpretation of a fine and elegant Dão, a wine that showcases the full potential and character of a very old centenary vineyard planted on granite soil on the slopes of Serra da Estrela, where the Baga and Jaen varieties dominate. Its aroma presents notes of cherry, violet and mint. On the palate it reveals depth with dried fruit and a salty character that is balanced by the fruit, while the lively acidity keeps the wine fresh, leading to a long but smooth and elegant finish. In the national wine panorama, there is no producer more consensus than Niepoort, whose long history began in 1842 with the first Van Der Niepoort arriving in Portugal. Starting in the Port wine market as a trader, he quickly established a business that would prove prosperous and future‑oriented. Thus, in the fifth generation, Dirk Niepoort was born, an unavoidable producer in the world of wines, recognized as one of the most important figures who has worked for and continues to work for Portuguese wine. He has collaborated with dozens of producers, helping them improve their wines and understand their vineyards, while also preparing his legacy with those who are always creating irreverent wines.
