In Portugal’s wine panorama, there is no producer more consensual than Niepoort, and its long history began in 1842 with the first Van Der Niepoort to arrive in the country. Beginning as a trader in the Port wine market, the business quickly established itself as prosperous and promising. Thus, in the fifth generation, Dirk Niepoort was born, an undeniable figure in the world of wine, recognised as one of the most important personalities working for Portuguese wine. He has collaborated with dozens of producers, helping them improve their wines and understand their vineyards, and has also shaped his legacy with those who always create irreverent wines.
