When he entered the Port wine market as a merchant, he quickly set up a business that would prove to be both prosperous and forward‑looking. Thus, in the fifth generation, Dirk Niepoort was born—a pivotal figure in the wine world, recognized as one of the most influential personalities who has worked and continues to work for Portuguese wine. He has collaborated with dozens of producers, helping them improve their wines and better understand their vineyards, while also building his legacy alongside those who constantly create bold, irreverent wines.
