Beginning as a merchant in the Port wine market, he quickly set up a business that would prove both prosperous and enduring. Thus, in the fifth generation, Dirk Niepoort emerged—a prominent figure in the wine world, recognised as one of the most important personalities to have championed Portuguese wine. He has collaborated with dozens of producers, helping them refine their wines and understand their vineyards, while also shaping his own legacy alongside those who continuously create bold, irreverent wines. Today, Dirk Niepoort is involved in many other projects across almost every Portuguese wine region and several abroad. The bottling year may not match the image shown (illustrative only).
