The palate is impressive, elegant, and structured, with a salty and peppery note. The acidity reflects the granitic soils, giving a persistent and complex finish. In Portugal’s wine scene, no producer is more universally recognized than Niepoort, whose long history began in 1842 with the first Van der Niepoort arriving in the country. Starting as a Port wine trader, he quickly established a prosperous and promising business. In the fifth generation, Dirk Niepoort emerged, an influential figure in the world of wine, recognized as one of the most important personalities working for Portuguese wine. He has collaborated with dozens of producers, helping them improve their wines and understand their vineyards, while also preparing his legacy alongside those who always create irreverent wines.
