In the national wine panorama, there is no producer more consensus than Niepoort, and the long history begins in 1842 with the first Van Der Niepoort arriving in Portugal. Starting in the Port wine market as a merchant, he quickly established his business, which would prove prosperous and forward‑looking. Thus, in the fifth generation, Dirk Niepoort was born, an unmistakable producer in the wine world, recognised as one of the most important figures who has worked, and continues to work, for Portuguese wine. He has collaborated with dozens of producers, helping them improve their wines and understand their vineyards, while also preparing his legacy with those who always create irreverent wines. Today, Dirk Niepoort collaborates on many other projects, in practically all national wine regions and some foreign ones. The bottling year may not correspond to the image presented.
