After starting in the Port wine market as a merchant, he quickly established a business that proved prosperous and enduring. Thus, in the fifth generation, Dirk Niepoort was born, an indispensable producer in the world of wine, recognised as one of the most important figures who has worked and continues to work for Portuguese wine. He has collaborated with dozens of producers, helping them improve their wines and understand their vineyards, while also preparing his own legacy with those who are always creating irreverent wines.
