Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes with the ambition to introduce Portuguese wines to the world, guided by a long‑term vision rooted in the quality of its products, the novelty of its brands, and the presentation of its wines. Today led by the third generation of the founding family, Sogrape Vinhos increasingly fulfills the goal set at its inception: to be a family‑run, internationally focused company that concentrates on producing quality wines, fostering innovation, and developing Portuguese brands of global standing. The company owns about 830 hectares of vineyards across Portugal. Offley, established in London in 1737 by William Offley as a wine trading house, quickly began exporting wines and later produced its own Port, earning worldwide recognition as a producer of high‑quality wines. The decisive moment for the company's expansion came when Joseph James Forrester joined as a partner. Known as the Baron of Forrester, he played a key role in expanding the international trade of Port and was the first to map the Douro River and valley, earning him recognition and admission to several European societies of Geography and the Arts.
