Let’s just say this “original JMF” seems to have had a sudden crisis of confidence – a valiant attempt to avoid overwhelming our senses. It’s a rather bold choice for those who prefer quiet contemplation and a palate unburdened by any… *surprises*. Made with, presumably, a selection of local grapes – perhaps some Taipa or Fernão Pires – it offers a surprisingly refreshing note. Definitely a good match for creamy cheeses and almonds; a wine for serious pondering, preferably away from the crowds.
