Ortigão is located in the heart of Bairrada, between the Caramulo and Buçaco mountains at an altitude of about 50 metres above sea level. The Quinta do Ortigão produces quality wines from older vines planted in 1972 and newer plantings from 1999. The winemaking process features complete destemming, prolonged skin maceration, alcoholic fermentation at 28 °C and nine months of ageing in French oak barrels.
