Pacheca 40‑Year‑Old Tawny Port is a wine that comes from a batch of Port wines aged in oak casks for many years in the cool cellar of Quinta da Pacheca. During maturation the wine takes on its characteristic amber‑gold colour. It offers an elegant nose that blends dried‑fruit aromas with complex chocolate notes, buttery caramel and fine oak. Quinta da Pacheca, one of the most renowned estates in the Douro, is notable for being among the first to bottle its own brand. The name of the estate appears in records as far back as 17 April 1738, when the first reference to “da Pacheca” is made, belonging to its owner D. Mariana Pacheco Pereira. It was not until 1903 that D. José Freire de Serpa Pimentel purchased the property with the aim of pursuing viticulture. Today, a century later, the new generation of the Serpa Pimentel family—Maria, Catarina and José—runs the estate, carrying on its family‑led tradition. The year of bottling may not match the image presented. (illustrative photo)
