Palato do Coa began in 2007, when winemaker Carlos Magalhães challenged five of his friends to buy Quinta da Saudade, a property in the Douro Superior, Vila Nova de Foz Côa – widely regarded as one of the best terroirs in Portugal’s Douro region.
