This “Reserva” from Pancas is a bit of a gamble – a blend of Vital, a rather unusual grape for this region, alongside Arinto and Chardonnay. The Chardonnay provides a welcome smoothing effect, and the producer suggests this comes from a period of ageing in oak, leaving a subtly buttery finish. A fantastic pairing would be with grilled fish or a lighter bean stew – a true taste of Lisbon’s unexpected surprises.
