Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes with the ambition of introducing Portuguese wines to the world, guided by a long‑term vision focused on the quality of its products, the novelty of its brands, and the presentation of its wines. Today, led by the third generation of the founding family, Sogrape Vinhos increasingly fulfils its original objective: to be a family‑run, internationally oriented company that concentrates on producing quality wines, on innovation, and on developing Portuguese brands of global calibre. The company owns roughly 830 hectares of vineyards across Portugal. Casa Ferreirinha and its wines are synonymous with time and art. Since its 18th‑century founding by Bernardo Ferreira, the estate’s formula has been refined over the generations, especially by his granddaughter Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira—affectionately known as “Ferreirinha” or “Ferreirinha‑da‑Régua” among the people of her homeland. Under Dona Antónia’s stewardship, who, after becoming widowed twice, led a major enterprise, Ferreira established herself admirably. Her entrepreneurial spirit taught her to foresee, decide, create, teach, and love, making her a figure of great influence and charisma.
