Casal das Aires is a family-owned estate in the Tejo wine region, dedicated to organic cultivation and premium wines. Joana Pinhão was born in Alpiarça, a place steeped in a vibrant winemaking tradition. Naturally, she devoted herself to the world of wine and vines, working on notable projects such as the enology team at Quinta Vale Dona Maria while also pursuing personal initiatives. Seeing the growing acclaim for the Tejo region, she decided to bring her dream to life. In 2015, she re‑cultivated her vineyards in the Charneca, focusing on national varieties like Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca, Trincadeira, Bastardo, Bical, Arinto, Fernão Pires, Alvarinho, Loureiro, and Avesso, as well as international grapes such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Alicante Bouschet. The first wine from this new venture, Casal das Aires, was released in 2019.
