Based on conditions governed solely by nature, vineyard cultivation now follows far different and far more demanding practices than in the past, with a clear goal: quality. The vineyards of Quinta dos Capuchos are located in the southern stretch of the Alcoa Valley, in the Beira Serra dos Candeeiros area, on clayey limestone soils, stony and challenging, from the Jurassic, within a particular climatic setting where the Atlantic influence, already tempered, contributes to excellent grape ripening conditions. With an area of 11 hectares, a little more than half of which are planted with the red varieties Touriga Nacional, Castelão, Syrah, Aragonez, and Cabernet Sauvignon, we also plant white varieties such as Arinto, Verdelho, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay.
