Pegos Claros Tinto

Description

Since 1920, Herdade de Pegos Claros has been producing wines of recognized quality, and in the 1990s it was responsible for wines that became national and international references among the best DOC Palmela wines, now Protected Designation of Origin. Using the standards of that decade as a benchmark, it continues to produce wines exclusively from old vines planted on sandy soils, many of them century‑old, predominantly the Castelão grape, in a maritime influence zone, employing traditional methods of hand‑harvesting, foot‑treading, open‑air fermentation, and oak barrel ageing.
