Pegos Claros DOC Palmela. Pegos Claros wines are the ultimate expression of a unique terroir: old Castelão vineyards, unfarmed, on the sands of Palmela. The vineyards are segmented by age, with the oldest being centenarian, low yields and high aromatic concentration. The exclusivity of the Castelão variety gives the wines a distinct identity and allows the creation of a coherent and varied portfolio. Each wine presents personality, balance and elegance, reflecting the region’s tradition, quality and uniqueness. Benefiting from a minimal bottling maturation, they are ready to enjoy, yet still hold great ageing potential. Harvest: Manual, carried out at an earlier stage of ripening to preserve freshness and natural acidity. Fermentation: In vats for 3 days, with low extraction, finishing fermentation in stainless‑steel tanks. Maturation: 40 % in used French oak barrels of 500 L and 60 % in stainless steel, ensuring freshness, complexity and elegance. Food pairings: Excellent as an aperitif or with cooked fish dishes, risottos and oven‑roasted meats.
