This Pera Manca from the Alentejo certainly feels like it has a story to tell – and perhaps a few good tales to share alongside a hearty black pork dish. The cherries, undeniably the star of the show, deliver a complex aromatic profile reminiscent of ripe fruit and restrained sweetness. Remarkably, the almost forgotten grape variety showcases a surprising elegance. A wine with a vibrant acidity, perfectly balancing the sweetness and rustic character of the characteristic Alentejo terroir – as we all know so well – and, notably, awarded a Gold Prize at the Domação Tasting.
