This Perrin Les Sinards Châteauneuf-du-Pape clearly benefitted from a particularly indulgent vintage – a welcome breeze ensured it didn’t succumb to excess. The early harvest, spurred by ideal conditions, delivered plump, perfectly ripe grapes, with the wind cleverly preventing an overabundance of heat. A brief frost was a minor hiccup, swiftly overcome. It seems Perrin understands that a truly exceptional Châteauneuf-du-Pape needs a refreshing lift, and he certainly delivered. Wonderful with game dishes featuring red berry compotes, wouldn’t you agree?
