This “Wildcard” from Peter Lehmann is a genuinely delightful surprise. The Chardonnay, often quite austere, reveals a surprising softness, hinting at extended barrel aging – one that clearly didn’t shy away from letting the fruit’s spice notes shine through. It’s a lovely reminder that the Douro Valley isn't just about red wine, and that white grapes can certainly pack a vibrant punch. Perfect with grilled fish or roasted chicken, really.
