This Piano Reserva, hailing from the Douro, certainly isn’t shy about paying homage to its origin – and it does so with considerable flair. Following a lengthy barrel aging, notably in battonage barrels where ripe white fruit notes dance with toasted wood, the result is an intensely elegant wine with a remarkably persistent finish. A wonderful pairing would be with a grilled fish with aromatic herbs to really amplify those fruity nuances.
