Born from vines aged over 90 years, this wine is a passionate tribute to tradition and the incredible diversity of native grapes – a veritable symphony of flavours that defies simple description. The meticulous winemaking, culminating in foot-treading, imparts an intensity and purity that earned high praise from Wine Spectator (94/100) and Wine Enthusiast (94/100). Following a 20-month ageing in French oak barrels, the result is a wine particularly favoured by Robert Parker (97/100) – a testament to its elegance and balance. Having already captivated discerning palates, as evidenced by its 19/20 rating in Grandes Escolhas and 18.5/20 in A Essência do Vinho, “Pintas” is a genuine expression of the Douro’s hidden treasures, and would pair wonderfully with a slow-cooked lamb dish.
