Description

Nothing could deter Jorge Serôdio Borges and Sandra Tavares da Silva from one day creating their own wine, a product of their professional experience and their relationship. This talented couple founded the company Wine & Soul in 2001, at the same time acquiring 2.5 ha of old‑vine, over 70 years old and planted with dozens of grape varieties, which would give rise to their first wine, named Pintas. The name was chosen because both would return home covered in specks of must on their T‑shirts after a day in the vineyard or the cellar. Today, Pintas is one of the brightest stars in the Portuguese wine firmament and a true symphony of old vines. The couple’s aim is to craft wines that fully express the character of old‑vines and indigenous Douro varieties, striking a balance between concentration, complexity and elegance.
