Pintas Character Tinto

Description

This “Pintas Character” is the product of Jorge Serôdio Borges and Sandra Tavares’s obsession with these centenary Douro vineyards – a remarkable collection of around 30 native grape varieties. The harvest, carried out in full autumn, revealed these grapes were particularly vibrant, and the foot-pumping fermentation imparted a distinct freshness. Following a well-deserved 18-month maturation in French oak, the wine displays a deep violet hue and a surprisingly velvety texture, with tannins that offer a delightful burst of fruit – a truly fitting “Pintas” name. Achieving 93 points from Parker, this is a wine promising a complex and harmonious symphony of flavours, perfect with grilled beef or wild mushrooms.
