Description

The Quinta da Plansel is located about 100 kilometres from Lisbon, in the southeast part of the town of Montemor-o-Novo. With around 70 hectares of vineyards, the predominant grape varieties are Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca, Verdelho, and Gouveio, which give the winery’s wines their fruity, harmonious, and distinctive character. The estate was founded in 1997 when Dorina Lindemann, daughter of Jorge Böhm and an oenologist trained at the University of Geisenheim, came from Germany to Portugal with her husband Thomas Lindemann, and, capitalising on the existing vineyards tied to her father’s technical improvement program, devoted herself to winemaking. Today, Dorina and her two daughters, Júlia and Luísa Lindemann, are passionate about Portuguese native grape wines and the Alentejo. (illustrative image)
