Everything began in 1918, when Manoel Domingues Poças Júnior, born amid the chaos of Port wine, decided to launch his own venture. At around thirty, he had some industry experience and, together with his uncle, founded a supplier of brandies to major Port producers. Years later he set up the company’s headquarters in Vila Nova de Gaia, where it remains to this day. The Poças family has since shared a passion for wine, marrying respect for tradition with the openness to innovation brought by new generations. Today, with three estates in the best locations of the Demarcated Douro region, Poças enjoys full control over the quality of its wines.
