It all began in 1918, when Manoel Domingues Poças Jr., born in the midst of the bustling Porto wine scene, decided to start his own business. By the age of around 30, Manoel Poças already had some industry experience, and together with his uncle, he founded a company supplying brandies to major Porto wine producers. Years later, he established the company’s headquarters in Vila Nova de Gaia, where it has remained ever since. The entire Poças family has shared a passion for wine, blending reverence for tradition with an open mind to the innovations brought by newer generations. Today, with three estates in the best locations of the Douro Demarcated Region, Poças exercises complete control over the quality of its wines. The bottling year may not match the image shown.
