This Gabriel Pecorino from Poggio Anima is a reminder that the Lecona, with its limestone terroir, still has plenty to say. The Pecorino, a variety that shines here, offers a medium-bodied wine with hints of wild thyme and aged almond, a testament to its time spent in used oak barrels. As recognised by Guia Vinho de Guarda with a respectable 91 points, it’s a truly expressive wine – particularly lovely paired with a selection of aged cheeses or perhaps a hearty pork dish.
