Depending on its age, the wines may show marks left by time, such as dust residues on the bottles and/or some label damage, common in wines that have spent decades in storage. The National Wine Cellar stores all wines at the correct temperature and humidity, but always preserves the visual appearance inherent to their age. We typically choose brands/regions that usually perform well in old‑wine tastings. However, wine is a living organism that, like everything else, is exposed to time, and even inside a bottle its aromas evolve. Consequently, the National Wine Cellar cannot be held responsible for the wine’s quality, as it is an aged wine. Our recommendation is to open and let the bottle breathe beforehand to help release its natural aromas after so many years sealed. Avoid decanting, which can be too aggressive for old wines.
