The bottles of older wines may show traces of dust and damaged labels, reflecting their age. The National Cellar is obliged to store all wines at the correct temperature and humidity, yet it always chooses to preserve the visual appearance inherent to their age. We select brands/regions that, by default, reveal distinct characteristics in tastings of older wines. However, we point out that wine is a living organism exposed to time, and even inside a bottle, aromas can evolve in various ways. Therefore, the National Cellar cannot be held responsible for the product’s quality, as this is an aged wine. Our recommendation is to open the bottle and let the wine aerate beforehand, helping to release its natural aromas after so many years sealed. If you choose to decant the wine before serving, do so patiently to detect any sediment that an older wine tends to develop. (image purely illustrative)
