This wine seems to have rushed out before it was quite ready. It’s a noticeably sweet wine, with a frankly exuberant burst of white fruit – bordering on cloying. Despite the sugar content, the Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay, so characteristic of the Bairrada region, struggle to quite find their balance, perhaps a little too much influenced by the area’s damp terroir. A curious experience, though perhaps better suited to a passionfruit mousse than a rich foie gras.
