The deep garnet colour hints at a sophisticated ripeness, while the aromas – think velvet black cherry, raspberry and that subtle violet note – certainly deliver on the promise of pleasure. It’s got a wonderfully vibrant acidity that beautifully balances the texture and fruit, and those tannins just wrap around the palate. Seriously, it’s fantastic with duck or sautéed mushrooms.
