This Provezaide 17+ has a wonderfully nostalgic quality – it’s as if it’s reminding you of a forgotten promise. A robust Douro red, intensely concentrated and clearly benefiting from extended barrel aging, it bursts with ripe black fruit and a subtle, almost belated, spice note. The Touriga Nacional contributes its characteristic elegance, resulting in a powerful wine beautifully balanced by a refreshing acidity. Seriously, this would be fantastic with a slow-roasted lamb – a pairing worthy of remembering.
