This Douro from Quinta da Boeira is a delightful confirmation of its potential – ripe black fruit like cherries and blackberries burst forth, subtly spiced and surprisingly elegant. The palate is immediately inviting, with maturing tannins gently enveloping the wine, leaving a lingering, intensely satisfying finish – a touch of classic Port charm, really. It’s exceptionally good with smoked meats; you’ll be reaching for another glass before you know it.
