The Quinta da Bulfata is an agricultural project owned by the Rabaçal family, covering a total area of 35 ha and located in the small village of Pinhal do Douro in the municipality of Carrazeda de Ansiães. The estate’s elevation ranges from 300 to 600 m above sea level, and it features slate soils that transition between granite and schist, as well as separate sandy soils. Managed by Victor Rabaçal in viticulture and winemaking, the estate currently cultivates 10 ha of vines. The grape varieties planted—Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Amarela, Sousão, Tinta Barroca, Fernão Pires, Rabigato, Gouveio, Viosinho, and Alvarinho—are each placed according to soil type, altitude, and sun exposure. The vineyard plots are complemented by traditional olive groves and forest areas dominated by sobrees, carrascos, zimbros, and medronheiros. (Illustrative image)
