Quinta da Bulfata is an agricultural estate owned by the Rabaçal family, covering a total area of 35 hectares and located in the small village of Pinhal do Douro in the municipality of Carrazeda de Ansiães. Its vineyards span an altitude range from 300 to 600 meters, featuring slate soils that transition between granite and slate, as well as distinct sandy soils. With viticulture and winemaking overseen by Victor Rabaçal, the estate currently cultivates 10 hectares of vines. The range of planted varieties—Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Amarela, Sousão, Tinta Barroca, Fernão Pires, Rabigato, Gouveio, Viosinho, and Alvarinho—is each assigned to plots based on soil type, altitude, and sun exposure. Adjacent to the vineyards are traditional olive groves and forested areas dominated by Sobreiras, Carrascos, Zimbros, and Medronheiros. (illustrative image)
