Depending on its age, the wines may show marks left by time, such as dust residues on the bottles and/or some label damage, which is common in wines that have been stored for decades. The National Wine Cellar is committed to storing all wines at the correct temperature and humidity, yet it always opts to preserve the visual appearance that comes with age. We typically select brands/regions that normally perform well in old wine tastings. However, wine is a living organism, and even inside a bottle its aromas evolve over time. Consequently, the National Wine Cellar cannot be held responsible for the quality of the wine, as it is an aged wine. Our recommendation is to open the bottle and let it air out beforehand to help release its natural aromas after so many years sealed. Avoid decanting, as this can be too aggressive for old wines.
